Laura Zweig has been teaching both children's and adults' dance classes
for about thirty years. Her primary background was as a student of
Ernestine Stodelle in New Haven, Connecticut. Ernestine Stodelle
was one of the original members of the first dance company that Doris Humphrey
and Jose Limon founded. Ms. Stodelle gave Laura a background in the
lyrical modern dance technique of Humphrey and Limon. Laura was a
member of Ms. Stodelle's Choreo-Lyric Dance Company for several years.
Laura has studied dance, taught, and performed at various studios in
New York, San Francisco, Grenoble, Princeton, and Ithaca, N.Y. She
moved to Palo Alto in 1979 and became a member of Judith Komoroske's performing
group, The Creative Dance Workshop. Laura has been teaching dance
in various locations in Palo Alto since 1979 including the Recreation Department
of the City of Palo Alto and the Escondido Village Program Department.
She joined the Dance Visions faculty in 1994.
Besides teaching and performing dance, Laura also teaches pre school.
She has been a teacher at Pre School Family since 1992 and is also currently
teaching at Grace Lutheran Pre School.
